Varvara Pasiali was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1975. (Cyprus is an island in the Mediterranean sea). She studied flute performance at the University of East Anglia at Norwich, England, UK. She worked as a freelance performer and as a music school teacher in Cyprus from 1996-1999. Varvara came in the United States to study music therapy in January 1999. She completed her internship at UH in April 2002 and graduated from the University of Kansas in May 2002 with a Master's in Music Therapy.
She has accepted a position (starting this July) as a mental health consultant at the Ashtabula County Community Agency Head Start Program. Her clinical research areas include working with children who have autism, working with minorities, and multicultural issues.
Varvara lives in Cleveland. She is active at her local Greek Orthodox Church outreach program, traditional Greek dancing program, and the choir. In her free time she enjoys walking or rollerblading at the park, or exercising at the gym with her fiance.
