It is the only hospital in Cleveland dedicated solely to the comprehensive care of children. With more than 850 pediatric specialists, representing more than 30 major specialty areas, Rainbow provides care for more than 90,000 outpatients and 8000 hospitalized patients each year. RB&C opened the new eight-story Leonard and Joan Horvitz Tower in 1997 with 244 beds to inaugurate its second century of service. In 1999, U.S. News & World Report ranked Rainbow as one of the top five pediatric hospitals in America.
