Alyssa Yeager, MA MT-BC received her bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College in music and Italian in 2001. She went on to obtain her masters degree in music therapy from MCP Hahnemann/Drexel University in Philadelphia, where she also received her first official introduction to hip-hop music.

After completing an internship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Alyssa relocated to Boston, MA. There she worked as a contract music therapist at the Newton Music School, several early intervention agencies, and the Massachusetts Association for the Blind. She also used this time to begin presenting locally and regionally on vocal improvisation techniques with adolescents.

Alyssa has been employed at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital since 2005. There she works with a team that includes Music and Art Therapists, Child Life Specialists, and Educators. She continues to present at conferences on topics ranging from vocal improvisation to joint music and art therapy work and the use of music therapy in the NICU. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys performing locally, and is about to release her first independent CD of original children’s music. Keep your eye out on CDBaby.com for “Normal is Boring”!
