Mackenzie Cox completed her coursework at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC in May of 2014. She received a BM in Music Therapy and a BA in Psychology. Mackenzie’s principal instrument is cello, and she performed with the Converse Symphony Orchestra all four years as an undergraduate. She gained practicum experience for music therapy at Mountain View Nursing Home, Cannons Elementary School, and on pediatric and adult units at Spartanburg Regional Hospital in Spartanburg, SC. Mackenzie was also in several leadership positions at Converse, including Community Advisor and Senior Appeals Board Representative.
Mackenzie is blown away at the opportunity to be a part of the UH Music Therapy team. She is excited to have supervision in various areas of the hospital, and to grow in her skills as she approaches the start of her career as a young music therapist. She trusts that she is in good hands with the UH Music Therapy team and will learn more than she can imagine during the next six months!
